Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

The Role

This is a varied and client-facing position where you will support a portfolio of construction and commercial clients, providing professional health and safety advice, conducting site inspections, producing detailed reports, and helping businesses maintain compliance with current legislation.

You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring they receive practical guidance and support to create safe working environments and achieve their health and safety objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Site Inspections & Compliance

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits across client locations.
  • Assess compliance with current health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Identify hazards and areas for improvement, providing practical recommendations.
  • Produce detailed inspection reports and ensure timely submission to clients.
  • Monitor corrective actions and support clients in implementing improvements.

Client Consultancy & Support

  • Act as a designated Competent Person for clients where required.
  • Provide day-to-day health and safety advice and guidance.
  • Respond promptly to client queries regarding compliance, site activities, and legislation.
  • Support clients in achieving and maintaining relevant health and safety accreditations and certifications.
  • Review and advise on risk assessments, method statements, policies, and procedures.

Training & Awareness

  • Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to client teams.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture across client organisations.
  • Keep clients informed of legislative updates and industry developments.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Conduct accident and incident investigations when required.
  • Support non-construction clients with audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of health and safety management systems.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor, Consultant, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience carrying out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Desirable

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate.
  • Experience working within a consultancy environment.
  • Membership of IOSH (or working towards).
